Il Progetto METRO - MEtallurgic TRaining On-line
Distance learning on metallurgical issues.
| Type of funding: |
Leonardo Programme |
| Kick off: |
- |
| Duration: |
18 months |
|
The specific aim of this project is the carrying out of on-line training courses on metallurgical subjects, to be easily usable by anyone (already working or looking for a job) interested in developing and widening their knowledge.
The project provides several original courses on metallurgic subjects, both in Italian and English, using the technologies at disposal and thanks to TCN Consortium through the improve.it portal. They are accompanied by printed handbooks and courses notes. Furthermore the project provides that the efficacy of the material produced is experimented on by Universities and Companies, directly involved in it. The courses include suitable structured tests to verify what learnt.

| The training courses are (and will be) easily usable by anyone, thanks to the innovative on-line implementation on a devoted portal, available at: http://www.improve.it/metro.
The planned courses some of which have already been concluded - are:
- Introduction to metallic materials (by AIM - Associazione Italiana di Metallurgia)
- Metals solidification (by NTNU - Trondheim University)
- Aluminium and Magnesium cast alloys (by NTNU - Trondheim University)
- Cast iron (by HJ - Jonkoeping University)
- Casting and simulation (by HJ - Jonkoeping University)
- Numerical models validation (by IPPT Warsaw University)
- Metallic materials database (by IPPT Warsaw University)
- Welding processes metallurgy (by AIM - Associazione Italiana di Metallurgia)
- Metal matrix composites (by AIM - Associazione Italiana di Metallurgia)
